Asus has comes up with good smartphone Asus PadFone Mini, it has small that can be placed in a tablet dock, which then relays whatever is running on the smartphone’s screen on the larger screen of the tablet. The device aims to those who want big-screen device to read books and watching videos.
The Taiwanese firm is set to launch new iteration of the PadFone in India with price tag of Rs 15,999. The device named PadFone mini. The latest PadFone Mini to save to carry two permanently-separated devices. It has a combined weight of 376g. The latest PadFone Mini comes with battery capacity of 3270mAh.
The Asus PadFone Mini has hybrid device which powered by Intel Atom Z2560 processor that runs at 1.6GHz, has 8GB of internal storage which can also be expandable via microSD card with upgraded by up to 64GB.
Features and Design
The Asus PadFone Mini is comes with two separate items which is smartphone unit and tablet dock. The smartphone is better looking in terms of design and this device looks similar to ZenFone 4 in terms of features and design. The difference of the tablet that it has docking point at the bottom and the data can be relayed from the smartphone to the tablet part.
The Asus PadFone Mini is good to carry and very compact and easy to hold and its come with metallic strip with concentric semicircles at the bottom that we have seen in the ZenFone range. The other options of loudspeaker is positioned next to the rear camera which is great and easy to use, also the other metallic power and volume keys are look good and feel nice to the touch.
The tablet dock which named PadFone Station, It has 7-inch slate that is devoid of basic features like front and rear cameras, loudspeaker, earphone jack etc. For all these, PadFone mini relies on the smartphone.

The PadFone mini smartphone has come up with 4-inch 480x800p IPS display screen, It has dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (with additional microSD support). The device sports battery of 1,700mAh capacity. The camera point of view that PadFone has 8MP of rear camera and 1.9MP front cameras. The device has support dual-SIM options. Asus PadFone software comes with, tablet running on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system with Asus’s Zen UI on top.
Usability,Apps and Performance
PadFone mini has good and easy to use, and just place the smartphone unit in the dock and the tablet portion will detect it in a couple of seconds. The device also lets you know when the smartphone has been docked/removed via a vibration on both units; there is a small notification light in the power button of the tablet blinks for a few seconds to let the user know when the smartphone has been docked.
The PadFone mini downloaded apps that you open on the tablet and need to put into a list that called it as Dynamic View, in order to be opened on both smartphone and tablet. We need to run run all common Android apps in smartphone as well as tablet modes. This will supports voice calls and that will be able to talk on the tablet.
The latest PadFone mini for the performance point of view, Asus PadFone mini is not the best device and the performance is OK and when it comes to opening and switching between apps as well as running games. There is just 1GB RAM and if can load few couple of games even crashed while us were using the tablet, which is now seen in only a few other phones in this price range.
The device Asus having problem it has own ZenFone 6which allows have better features with display of 6-inch screenand cost also nearly the same as PadFone mini. If someone is looking to buy a device that can be used as a smartphone as a voice calling tablet then everyone can suggest PadFone mini is a safe and good for buying.
